Congratluations to the winners at Smart Retro Pitch Camp in Bagarmossen

Published Jan 29, 2015

Congratulations to the winners at Smart Retro Pitch Camp in Bagarmossen: Joakim and Victor from  Kvalitid.com , one out of thirteen smartups who developed idéas for creating smarter and more sustainable cities. The jury also mentioned  Yhteismaa´s Nifty Neighbour  community platform, and the  Urban Fruit Initiative , a firm that wants to better utilise the apples in your backyard.

Smart Retro is a Nordic urban development project and a collaboration between the Nordic think tank Demkos Helsinki and CESC. Josefin Wangel from CESC is one of the researchers and project leaders in the Smart Retro program.

One of the reasons for choosing Bagarmossen as a test bed is the strong local community of Bagis, which includes inhabitants as well as companies and property owners, says Josefin Wangel, a process that CESC will support with its knowledge and experience in developing ICT solutions for sustainability. During the spring the smartups will continue to develop their projects.

- We will also, together with Demoks Helsinki, develop scenarios describing in what way Bagarmossen will benefit from the different smartups in the long run, says Josefin Wangel.
