Digital consumer profiling and normative implications

As individuals, we are increasingly the data sources of entire markets, commodifying all things logged and trading with our information. This presentation focuses normative challenges in this datafication with regards to (lack of) transparency, privacy and human awareness, and discusses how it could be framed and conceptualised for regulatory approaches to come.

Stefan Larsson is an Associate Professor in technology and social change at Lund University Internet Institute (LUii), as well as a researcher at the Centre for Middle Eastern Studies (CMES) at Lund University and at Fores. He holds a PhD in sociology of law as well as in spatial planning, and studies digital sociolegal change, including issues of trust, consumption, traceability and privacy.
